How does social media benefit your business in real estate and mortgages? Tune in as Ivan Simental and I go over what has worked for us and how we have been able to grow our audience organically and turn followers into clients.

Our biggest tips are to start with the social media channel that makes you feel the most comfortable and grow from there and be yourself! People want to get to know you, and work with a real person.

What is your topic?

For us specifically is mortgage loans which can be boring to some people, the idea of crunching numbers and finding loan programs is not exciting to most people. So, we pivoted to what buyers care about these days, the path to homeownership, education via video tips and real-life experiences.

How to come up with you content?

Think about the questions your clients are asking you. What different scenarios you run into when running your business, what have you learned in your line of work, what your tips and secrets are. Share experiences with your agents, partners, and clients. Watch other videos that are related to your field and put it in your own words!

Which is the best video platform to start with?

It comes down to what is comfortable and familiar and the platform you engage with the most. Start with the one you are opening daily and the best thing to do is to get familiar with its tools, once you have a rhythm going, then you can explore another platform.

Should you post the same video across all platforms?

Social media experts recommend that you create content specific to each platform because there are different groups of viewers in each one. However, if you are just starting, it’s important to get out there, get comfortable, see what posting schedule works best for you, what content you are comfortable with and then fine tune it. You are keeping it real to you to attract the people you want to work with.

When will I see my first client?

It takes time and effort, once you have consistent content, then people will stumble onto your profile, start following you and be enticed to reach out and ask questions. It doesn’t happen overnight, but it will come the more consistent you are.

Do I need a studio?

Not necessarily, people want to see who you are. If you feel comfortable recording from your home office or would like to setup a space in your corporate office or store front, it should reflect who you are. What are your hobbies? What is your personal style? Stay true to yourself.

If you are a realtor, insurance agent or work in the real estate/mortgage industry, we can help you get started with your content creation. We have created studios in our offices, have scripts, microphones, and camera equipment. We’d love to help you get started and create a true partnership with you to successfully grow our businesses together.
